This is such an easy and fun project!
I have slowly – one at a time this year – as I was finishing up with various projects – made up a new link before I put that particular color of yarn away.
So easy! All you need is your I or J hook and some scrap yarn. I used my J hook and all 4-ply worsted weight yarn in all different colors, but this project is suitable for many types of yarns and would look great in just a few or one single color.
It would be cute for a Christmas tree, kids room (to hang things from), photo prop, scarf for holiday parties or so much more!
So, grab your yarn and hook and get set. Each link for me only took 5-7 minutes.
Chain 7
Starting in the 2nd chain from hook, single crochet across the chain (6)
Chain 1 and turn (on every row)
Single crochet 6 across the chain for 30 rows.
On this first “circle” (right now it’s a long rectangle) take the two short sides and hold them together and slip stitch them to join and finish off. Weave in your end.
On the next “loops”, repeat above, but before you slip stitch the ends together, wrap it around a finished “loop” and then slip stitch closed.
That is all! It really does add a fun, vintage vibe and quirk to anything!
I’d love to see all your “paper” chains so please tag me over on IG @theburgundybasket
